narāyaṇaṁ prabhuṁ vande karuṇāgha-vigraham
raga-mārga-bhaktiṁ dattvā tārayati tribhuvanam
I worship Śri Narayan Prabhu (i.e. Om Vishnupada Srila Bhaktivedanta
Narayana Gosvami Maharaja), who is the embodiment of mercy and delivering
The three worlds by giving raga-mārga bhakti (i.e. devotion done by following
the moods of the eternal associates of Kṛṣṇā in Vraja).
Śrī Vṛndāvana-Dhāma Praṇāma
jayati jayati vṛndāraṇyam etan murāreḥ
priyatamam ati-sādhusvānta-vaikuṇṭha-vāsāt
ramayati sa sadā gāḥ pālayan yatra gopīḥ
svarita-madhura-veṇur vardhayan prema rāse
(Śrī Bṛhad-Bhāgavatāmrta 1.5, Srīla Sanātana Gosvāmī)
All glories, all glories to Śri Vṛndāvana-Dhāma, where Śri Murāri enjoys residing more than He does in the hearts of sadhus or even in Vaikuntha, where He forever tends cows, and where, by playing sweet melodies on the flute, He increases the gopīs’ amorous love for Him.
Calo Mana Śrī Vṛndāvana Dhāma
calo mana śrī vṛndāvana dhāma
O mind, immediately race to Vṛndāvana…
jahā viharata nāgara, kuñjana āṭho jāma
Where the hero and heroines perpetually enjoy in the kuñjas.
bhūkha lage to rasikana jhūthana khāye lahiya viśrāma
When hungry I will take the remnants of rasika devotees and then take rest.
pyāsa lage to tarūṇī tanujā taṭā piyu salīla lalāma
When thirsty I will go to the banks of the Yamunā and drink her tasty water.
nīnda lage to jāya soi rahū, latana kunñja abhirāma
When fatigued I will rest in the dense kuñjas.
braja kī reṇu lakhi cinmaya, tanmaya rahū abhirāma
O mind, you will find eternal peace upon seeing the transcendental dust of Vraja.
pe kṛpālu mana jāti yaha bhūliye bhava rahe niṣkāma
O mind, be merciful to me and renounce all other desires besides these.

Hari Se Baṛā Hari Kā Nāma
hari se baṛā hari kā nāma, prabhu se baṛā prabhu kā nāma
anta meṅ nikalā ye pariṇāma
Hari’s name is greater than Hari Himself (because the Lord’s name can go everywhere). This is the conclusion of all the śastras.
sumīro nāma rūpa bina dekhe, kauḍī lage na dāma
nāmake bāṅdhe khine āyeṅge, ākhira ek din śyāma
Just chant the name even without seeing His form—it doesn’t cost anything.
Being tied by His name, eventually Śyāma must come to you one day.
draupadīne jab nāma puṅkārā, jhaṭa ā gae ghanaśyāma
sāṛī khaincata hārā duhśāsana, sāṛī baḍāi śyāma
When Draupadī called out this name, Ghanaśyāma immediately came. When
Duhśāsana was pulling off her cloth, Śyāma increased the length of her sārī.
jal ḍūbat gajarāj pukāro, āye ādhe nama
nāmiko cintā rahati hai, nāma na ho badanāma
When Gajendra was drowning, he could only utter half of the name. Nāmī
(Kṛṣṇa) is always worrying that His name cannot be ill-reputed; thus, He came.
jis sāgarako lāṅdha sake nā, binā pulake rāma
kuda gae hanumān usīko, leke hari kā nāma
Without the bridge Rāma could not cross over the ocean, but Hanumān,
chanting Rāma’s name, jumped over the sea.
vo dil vale dub jāyeṅge, jinmeṅ nakiṅ hai nāma
vo patthara bhi tereṅge jin par, likhā rāmakā nāma
That person, in whose heart the name does not dwell, will sink. That stone
upon which Rāma’s name is written will float.

Mohan Hamāre
mohan hamāre madhuvan main tum āyā na karo
jādū bharī ye bāṁsuri, sunāyā na karo
O Mohan! You should not come into our Madhuvan and play this magical flute.
sūrat ṭumhārī dekh ke, salonī sāmvarī
sūnakar tumhārī bāmsurī ham ho gayi bāvarī
mākhan curāne vale, dil na curāyā karo
By seeing your attractive darkish (complexion) face and hearing your flute we
went mad! O stealer of butter, you should not steal our heart.
mukuṭ gale van mālā, kaṭi kāchnī sohe
kāṇaṇ kuṇḍal jhūmke, mere man ko mohe
is canḍṛmā se rūp se lubhāyā na karo
Your body is decorated by a crown, garland and waist ornament. My mind is
enchanted by your bell-shaped pendant (earrings). Don’t attract us by this beautiful moon like form.
apnī yashoda maiyā kī saugandha hai tumko
yamunā nadī ke tir pe tum, nā milo humko
is bāmsurī kī tān pe bilmāyā nā karo
We are giving oath of your mother, Yashoda, that you would not come on the
bank of Yamuna to meet with us and keep waiting on the melody of Your flute
isī tumharī bāmsurī ne mohinī dārī
caṇḍṛa sakhī ki vinatī tum suniyon banvarī
darasa dikhāde sāṁvarā, ab der na karo
Thus, your flute has enchanted everyone, therefore this is the request of Chandra
sakhi to Banvari to appear before us without any delay.

I am calling in every street to accept the holy name of Lord Kṛṣṇa. I am distributing
diamonds and jewels of Kṛṣṇa’s name in every street. Whoever took these jewels
they become enriched and those who worship māyā, become poor. O holder of
gold, silver and wealth! I am trying to make you understand. O fanatic of wealth,
listen!
daūlat ke dīvāno sun lo, ek din aisā āyegā
dhan daūlat aur māl khajanā, yanhī paṛā rah jāyegāhera, prabhu ne sams
kancan kāyā miṭṭī hogī, carcā hogī galī-galī
O mads of wealth! Listen, one day all of your wealth will be left here and thisī
beautiful golden body will turn to ashes and this will be announced in every street.
kaise-kaise hari bhakṭon ne us prabhu ko apnāyā hai
īsvar bhī kaise un bhakṭon ke man bhāyā hai
tulsi, mīra our narsī kā, jñān sunāun gali-gali
Many devotees have adopted that Lord as his owner and how Tulsi, Meera and Narsi became
attacted towards the Lord, I will speak in every street.
arjun ko jab moh ne ghera, prabhu ne samśaya dūr kiyā
jñān dharma kī jyoti jalā kar, gitā kā updesh diyā
gītā rāmāyaṇa, vedoṁ kā, sār sunāun galī-galī
When Aṛjuna was bewildered by illusion Lord Kṛṣṇa dispelled his doubt
by the knowledge of Bhagvad Gītā. I will announce the essence of Gītā,
Rāmāyan and Vedas in every street.

Ho Gaye Bhava Se Pār
ho gaye bhava se pār, lekar nāma terā
I have crossed the material ocean by chanting Your name.
Vālmikī was very humble. He was engrossed in sinful activity but he composed
Rāmāyaṇa by chanting Your name.
nala aur nīla jātike bāṅdar, rāma-nāma likhadiyā śilā par
ho gai senā pār, lekar nāma terā
There were two monkeys, Nala and Nīla. They wrote Rāma-nāma on stones
(which floated on the water) and the whole army crossed the sea by chanting
Your name.
bharī sabhā meṅ drupad dulārī, kṛṣṇa dvārakā-nātha pukārī
baḍa gayā cīra apāra, lekar nāma terā
In the midst of the whole assembly the daughter of Drupad called for Kṛṣṇa.
Dvārakā-nātha and her sārī was unlimitedly increased by chanting Your name.
mīrā giridhāra nāma pukārī, viṣa amṛta kara diyā murārī
nāca nāca kar tumheṅ rijhāi, loka lāja ko taja kar āi
khula gaye prema ke dvāra, lekar nāma terā
Mīrā called for Giridhārī, and Murārī turned the poison into nectar. She
appeased You by dancing without concern for public opinion. The doors of love
opened up by chanting Your name.
gaja ne ādhā nāma pukārā, gaja ne govinda nāma pukārā
garuḍa choḍakar use ubārā, kiyā grāha saṁhāra, lekar nāma terā
The elephant Gajendra uttered a half-name. He called out “Govinda.” Kṛṣṇa came on Garuḍa and killed the alligator.

Ālī! Mohe Lāge Vṛndāvana Nīko
ālī! mohe lāge vṛndāvana nīko, nīko lāge hari ko
ghara ghara tulasī, ṭhākura pūjā, darśana govindajī ko
ālī! mohe lāge vṛndāvana nīko
O friend! I like Vṛndāvana so much, where in every home Tulasī and the Deity
are worshiped and Govindajī gives His darśana.
nirmala nīra bahata yamunā ko, bhojana dūdha dahī ko
ālī! mohe lāge vṛndāvana nīko
Where the pure waters of the Yamunā flow and where the foodstuffs are milk and yoghurt. O friend! I like Vṛndāvana so much.
ratana simhāsana āpa virāje, mukuṭa dharyo tulasī ko
ālī! mohe lāge vṛndāvana nīko
Where the Deity sits on a jeweled throne, with Tulasī in His crown. O friend!
I like Vṛndāvana very much.
Kunjana kunjana phirata rādhikā, śabda sonata muralī ko,
ālī! mohe lāge vṛndāvana nīko
Where Rādhikā roams from kunja to kunja, having heard the vibration of His
flute. O friend! I like Vṛndāvana so much.
mīrā ke prabhu giridhāra-nāgara, bhajana binā nara phiko
ālī! mohe lāge vṛndāvana nīko
The hero Giridhārī is the master of Mīrā, who says that without bhajana a person is dull. O friend! I like Vṛndāvana so much.

This album “Vrndavana Madhuri” has eight selected tracks, all in sweet Hindi language. Vrndavan, illustrated as a land of beauty and splendor, is the dear home of Krishna because there he performed the amorous pastimes with the residents of Vraja. The songs describe the ecstatic moods the devotees of Krishna relish in chanting, remembering, glorifying the form, the name, the quality, the activities of Lord Krishna.
Swami Bhakti Vedanta Muni Maharaj has extraordinary fine-tuned unique vocals, profound spiritual mood and unprecedented music talent. Without any formal musical education, he produced many sublime albums which are well-recognized by professional musicians and general public.
released February 14, 2011
